[OKGIS] Have you installed ArcGIS 9.2 ...

Wow! That seems like a record for a product's first service pack. I
hope they make it without introducing still more problems.

I have had some serious problems with 9.2, as well.
*	On a layout with an overview view frame along with a main data
view frame, if the scale of the main view frame differs more than about
100:1 from the overview frame, then the extent rectangle disappears from
the overview and the leader line shoots off the side of the page. This
is a serious presentation quality issue for users that I've set up with
ArcReader, and I have to stay at the same level that they are.
*	I also have some maps and layer files that worked fine at 9.1,
but ArcMap and ArcCatalog 9.2 crash when they try to use them.
*	ArcSDE issues, as well.
*	And others, too...

I've been on the verge of going back to 9.1 for a couple of days now.

However, if you've installed 9.2, this is the time to contact ESRI
support and log those bug reports, so ESRI can try to fix them in SP1.

Regards,
David

Subject: [OKGIS] Have you installed ArcGIS 9.2 ...

Earlier this week I contacted tech support about the problem we are
having
opening 9.1 mxds with our 9.2 license. For our mapbooks, we have waited

over 45 minutes for the document to open! Of course, once it is saved
as a
9.2 mxd, the problem is alleviated. Nonetheless, I have yet to hear
back
from ESRI on the issue although I have been assured that this topic has
already been researched. I will post any comments if I learn anything
useful.

Secondly, ESRI announced yesterday that they will be releasing the
ArcGIS
9.2 Service Pack 1 sometime during the week of Dec. 18th. It has not
been
indicated yet what issues will be addressed, but for those of you using
9.2
check ESRI's website for additional information.
