[OKGIS] Relating tables...

Thanks to everyone who responded with suggestions about my table problem.
My problem was that I had around 200 stands of vegetation, each with roughly
30 species included and I needed to be able to seach all stands for
individual species. So, I basically took the stand numbers and specimens,
transposed them and then related it to my original table and searched that
way. Although it created a larger table, it works in this application
quite well.

Thanks again,

I have a question regarding the best way to format my table in order to
retrieve the information I need. I have a table with around 200 stands of
vegetation and each stand includes roughly 30 different specimens. I need to
be able to search and display individual specimens however, the table is set
up so that each specimen is in a different column (spec 1, spec 2, etc.) for
each stand and I have had to select (by attribute) each specimen in each
column in order to display all the post oaks (for example) for the entire
table. Does anyone have a suggestion as to how this table could be related
or reformatted in order to make this task more efficient? I have attached
the dbf for reference.

Thanks so much and thanks to Todd Fagin of Coordinate Solutions for the
information regarding this listserv!
