[OKGIS] Oklahoma Orthoimagery

The companies flying Oklahoma for NAIP (http://165.221.201.14/NAIP.html) purposes are still flying 1-meter, but they are sampling it down to 2-meter (that's what the contract calls for). Then for an additional cost, they will sell you the 1-meter, while releasing the 2-meter to the government that you can download for free. There is a 5 year rotation for 1-meter (2003, 2008, etc...).

Last I had heard, the NSGIC Imagery Plan (attached) was just that, a plan. If it has been approved, then it's completely different than the NAIP aerials we've been getting the past few years. If this is underway and there are 1-meter aerials out there to download for free newer than 2003, I think I speak for everyone when I say where can I get them?

Hope this helps.

The information I got from the NSGIC states that 1-meter resolution is to be released every year without any additional local cost, and 1' resolution is to be released every 3 years without any additional cost.

Is there a reason why we're not getting 1-meter or the 1' resolution?

Thanks Scott. Yes, 2004-2006 were all 2 meter. The 2003 was produced at 1 meter, due to local participation to finance the extra cost of the higher resolution. We could get 1 meter again in 2007 if funds were available.

They were all released as 2-meter.

I am pretty sure that 2004, 2005, and 2006 are all 1 meter or more.

You can check geo.ou.edu or http://datagateway.nrcs.usda.gov/ for more availability information.

Is there a source, paid or free, for recent high quality orthoimagery for Oklahoma? I have the 2006 NAIP 1-meter imagery, but I'm looking for something with better resolution such as 1' or better. The last high quality images I have are from 2003.
