[OKGIS] FW: [Gisusersforum] BAS files to Shapefiles

I use Petra and import Tobin .BAS files. They can then be exported as ESRI files to another program (i.e. ArcInfo). I would think Geographix offers this option as well. I often go back and forth between Petra, MapViewer, Tobin, and ArcInfo.

Those are InfoBase files, Tobin's "native" format. Tobin may have an internal convertor, but they are generally served up in that format for applications like PETRA. We actually have to maintain two copies of the land grid, one in that format for proprietary applications, and the other in ArcGIS Server. There is no known way to convert them that I am aware of, because the customer usually requests that they ship that way from Tobin.

  All,

Does anyone know how to convert .BAS files to ESRI Shapefiles? The .BAS are files that we have purchased from Tobin, but not in a format easily accessible to ESRI. .BAS files work with geographix..

  Any help would be great,

  Thank you,

  Nick
