Just one more note...

Quote from the ESRI document:

"The Field Calculator can be used within an edit session or outside an edit
session. Performing calculations within an edit session allows any field
calculations to be undone. .... For fields in a geodatabase feature class
with topology or a network, the Calculates Values command will only be
available within an edit session...."

I miss-spoke! I just normally use sde data layers in most of my projects.
Sde you must initiate an edit session to (duh) edit even an attribute in
field calculator. Shape and personal gdb present a dialog to continue with a
new added check box to not ask again. I attached some screen shots.

Subject: [OKGIS] Field Calculations

All,

Does anyone know how to populate a text column using a field calculator?

For Example: I need to put FULL into a column for all of my 2000 records
and I want to avoid typing it in 2000 times.

Any help would be great.

Thank you,

Nick
