Good Morning GIS Community:
Now is the time to recognize the great GIS work Oklahoma is doing at a
regional conference. The Mid America GIS Consortium (MAGIC) is looking
for nominations for outstanding GIS work in the region. There are so
many great projects and fabulous GIS people in Oklahoma that deserve to
be recognized. Please consider nominating some of our great GIS users
for these awards at the Mid America GIS Symposium to be held next spring
in Kansas City. We certainly have people in our state who deserve these
awards. See info below and go to the MAGIC site to nominate.
Nominations will only be open for 2 more weeks.
Thanks!
Shellie

Subject: [MAGIC Public] MAGIC Award Nominations
Good morning all,
Please distribute as widely as possible to the geospatial community...
So far, we have received no nominations in the "GIS Innovation" category
and a very few nominations in the other categories have only been
received from Missouri, Kansas and Arkansas.
Where are the nominations for outstanding geospatial staff or
organizations, these past two years, in Nebraska, Oklahoma, Iowa, North
Dakota or South Dakota???
There's only two weeks remaining for you to recognize the superior
geospatial accomplishments of that special person, consortium or
organization at the upcoming April, 2008 MAGIC Symposium in Kansas City,
MO!!!!
The Mid-America Geographic Information Consortium (MAGIC) asks your help
to identify those in the GIS community doing great things. We're sure
you realize how important it is for the greater GIS community to
properly recognize the outstanding performers in the categories of - GIS
Coordination, GIS Service and GIS Innovation.
MAGIC will honor such people with an award to be presented during the
beginning plenary session of the April, 2006 Symposium in Kansas City.
Taking the time to recognize their accomplishments honors not only their
efforts but those of their state and co-workers as well.
All we ask is that you take a few minutes to go to:
http://magicweb.kgs.ku.edu/magic/symposiums/2008/awards.cfm
Eligibility criteria, past award winners and award guidelines links are
on the web page.
The nomination form is web based and very easily completed. You may
make more than one nomination if you so choose. More than one nomination
would be greatly appreciated and would facilitate a wider range of
choices for the MAGIC member state's to make selections from. In
accordance with the MAGIC awards procedures of previous years - each
state's MAGIC director will receive the entire nomination portfolio and
decide how their state will determine their choice for awardees in each
of the three categories. Each state's determinations will be reported
to the MAGIC Awards sub-committee and combined to establish an overall
winner in each category.
If, for some reason, the nominations page is not available, please reply
accordingly.
Please consider recognizing our best and our brightest!
Thank you for your time!
Mark
