David,

I had to do a multi-step approach to get GDB'S to shapefiles. I have used
Garmin's MapSource software to open the GDB and saved it as a tab
delimited .txt. I then opened it in Excel and formatted it appropriately
and saved it as a .csv or other file type that ArcGIS will recognize when
doing an Add X/Y Table. From there I exported as a shapefile.

The one problem I never solved was the GDB showed a large number of points
in MapSource (I think greater than 2000), but when I saved everything as a
.txt, it would only show up with 1500 records. I never did find a way
around that problem.

Hope this was helpful. -Chris

[OKGIS] Convert Garmin GDB file to ESRI format.

Hi all,
I have a Garmin GDB output file that I need to convert to ESRI format.
Does anyone know of a utility for this that they recommend. I tried the
AV Garmin extension from ESRI but it just throws error codes when I try to
start it up.
