JOB SUMMARY This position is located primarily in the
Information Technology Department with The City of Oklahoma City and
is under the direction of the Geographic Support Manager. Work is
performed on an independent basis, requiring previously acquired
knowledge of technical information systems and various computer
hardware and software environments. Primary work will focus on
implementation, data conversions, maintenance, and modifications to
Geographical Information Systems. Essential job functions include:
evaluating existing information systems and procedures; analyzing
cost statistics and preparing economic comparisons of alternatives;
compiling and preparing logical systems documentation; and
designing, coding, testing, documenting and implementing new and
replacement systems. Specific tasks include, but are not limited to:
conducting and producing comprehensive needs assessments; preparing
detailed systems logic flow charts, diagrams, format layouts and
specifications; evaluating computer hardware and software; preparing
time and cost estimates; and writing detailed narrative
documentation. The Systems Analyst II supervises the activities of a
work section comprised of GIS Analysts, Programmer Analysts, and
other personnel as assigned. As a technical expert, the employee
acts as a liaison between various user departments and Information
Technology. Work efforts and final products are reviewed at the
discretion of the supervisor.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
· Knowledge of computer hardware and software systems. ·
Skill in designing, implementing, and evaluating systems/
applications. · Skill in preparing and analyzing systems
documentation and test data. · Knowledge of and skill in
applying programming methods and techniques using COBOL. ·
Knowledge of computer resource material. · Skill in supervising.
· Skill in conveying technical information, both verbally and in
writing, in a clear and understandable form to users. ·
Knowledge of and ability to apply standard managerial and
administrative concepts and principles. · Ability and
willingness to make work related decisions and assume responsibility
for decisions made. · Ability to operate peripheral computer
equipment such as printers, keyboards, etc. · Ability and
willingness to establish and maintain effective working
relationships.

WORKING CONDITIONS · Primarily inside in a climate
controlled environment. · Subject to frequent low level noise

occasional out-of-town travel.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS ·
Strength enough to lift and carry items such as computer equipment
weighing up to 50 lbs. · Arm/hand steadiness enough to
demonstrate and operate computing equipment such as personal
computers, graphic work station, digitizers, plotters, etc. ·
Manual and finger dexterity enough to operate equipment such as
personal computers, audio-visual, and other training aids. ·
Near vision enough to read, write, and develop training materials
such as audio visuals and slides, and to input data and read data on
a computer screen. · Speech and hearing enough to communicate
