I am not sure the complexity of your legals, but if they are simple (e.g. 10N, 10E, 30, NW NW) then you could use the spatial calculator at Center for Spatial Analysis (  This is also outside of ArcGIS but results in a Shapefile.

I just heard about LandGIS. Is that another component that is within ArcGIS 9.2 or is it a separate part of it that one would purchase extra? Also, is that the only part of Arc that can read and I dentify meets and bounds? I am trying to find a land system compatible with my 9.2. Any Help?
