Just to be clear.... The 2003 color photography was
obtained by FSA with partnership funds coming from NRCS, Oklahoma Conservation
Commission, and other State Agencies.
Sorry, but we have been instructed to ensure that everyone
realizes that there is no "NRCS color photography". FSA's Aerial
Photography Field Office (APFO) is in charge of all official USDA NAIP and Ortho
Imagery.
Thanks,
Bill
Hi Andrea,
SCI has had this up for several years. They got
one of those GIS data grants to do it. We have to remind people about this
every now and then for the new people.
If
you're using ArcMap, you can add an ArcIMS map service layer from
maps.scigis.com to ArcMap and view the quad maps and aerial photos directly
without having to download any images from anywhere. To do
this:
-
Open ArcMap.
-
Select Add
data.
-
Browse to GIS
Servers.
-
Select Add ArcIMS
Server.
-
Enter
maps.scigis.com and press
Enter.
-
Double click on
your new link to maps.scigis.com to view the available
layers.
-
OK_COLOR_DOQQ
-
OK_DOQQ
-
OK_DRG
-
OK_Basemap
-
Select the layer
you want and press
Enter.
-
Enjoy.

Is
there an ArcIMS map service that allows ArcMap direct access to OK’s 2008
aerials yet?

RE: [OKGIS] RE: Texas
TNRIS has an ArcIMS
map service that you can access directly from ArcMap, just like the OK aerials,
so you don’t have to download the images. The server is sometimes a little
shaky, so you might want to download them anyway.
The
URL for the ArcIMS service is: http://www2.tnris.org
Just create the link
like any other map service.

Try
the Texas Natural Resource Information System (TNRIS) at http://www.tnris.state.tx.us/ They have DOQs
back into the 1990s up to the present for the entire
state.
