Subject: [okgis] ArcGIS Schematics Extension?

Hi GIS Community,

Has anyone used the ArcGIS Schematics Extension in conjunction with utilities data?  An engineering firm has suggested we use it for our electrical utility network.  I don’t understand the benefits vs. complications over regular geometric networks since I haven’t used ArcGIS Schematics before.

Also, is anyone aware of college or tech center courses offered in Oklahoma that cover GIS-based schematics?

Thanks,
