I have not had that issue when using ArcGIS Pro. My guess is it is a DWG version issue. I have seen this in the past with ArcMap when Autodesk changes the DWG version. The dwg will appear in the Table of Contents but not be displayed in the map view. This is because the DWG version is new and ArcGIS cannot read it though it thinks it can. Sounds like what you are seeing in ArcGIS Pro.

If you can send me the drawing I would be happy to investigate if I am seeing the same issue. Here are a couple suggestions which might help:

  1. Make sure you are running the newest version of ArcGIS Pro which is 1.4.
  2. If you have access to AutoCAD try back saving to a different version or to a DXF
  3. Download TrueView from Autodesk (http://www.autodesk.com/products/dwg/viewers#). It will allow you to review the CAD file in a CAD environment and will allow you save to different versions. It is free.

Hope this helps.

I decided to try ArcPro for a project and its been going fairly well until I tried to add an AutoCAD file.

I am not seeing the .dwg file when I try to add it into my map in ArcPro.

I even changed the file type to CAD Data (All Types). It is showing up in ArcMap.

For now Ill just do the conversion in ArcMap, but would like to use ArcPro in the future.

Thanks in advance.
