Happy Monday Morning OK GIS Community:

The February meeting will feature the presentation "An Introduction to NTGISC and an overview of tribal geospatial activities in Oklahoma." by Garet Couch, President of NTGISC & Ryan Spring, NTGISC Advisory Committee Chair and Director, GIS/GPS Specialist, Historic Preservation Dept. of Choctaw Nation. The National Tribal Geographic Information Support Center (NTGISC), also known as Tribal GIS, is a non-profit organization with an objective to provide assistance to Native American tribal governments and Native American organizations regarding geographic information technology.

Tribal GIS brings together an organized environment for novice and advanced tribal GIS users. It strives to enable others to share their success in GIS as this may help another community or program. This organization addresses the challenges of utilizing GIS as a tool within the tribal governments; which assists in making critical decisions for those responsible for the stewardship of their lands, resources, health and well-being of their people.
